What solar is already saving Victorian homes

$1,073 a year, on average, with solar on the roof

$2,146 roughly double, if a battery lets you use more of your own power

Average Victorian household, Solar Victoria, 2025; battery multiplier, Clean Energy Council, 2025. Every roof and every bill is different, so we don’t guess yours. We assess it.

Our own team, on your roof.

The person who assesses your roof is the one who designs your system. Our own qualified electricians put it up.

  • Qualified electricians. The person who assesses your home designs your system, and our own electricians install it.
  • 2,500+ jobs completed. Over 10 years' experience in the industry. Your home is still assessed on its own roof, switchboard and electricity use.
  • A proposal you can check. It names each component and its warranty, shows the roof layout and lists the installation and electrical work separately.

The sun already hits your roof. You’re just not using it.

Solar makes electricity while the sun is up. Whatever the house uses at that moment is electricity nobody billed you for.

Lower bills, every sunny day

Run the dishwasher at noon instead of midnight and the power comes off your roof. We size the system around the hours you actually use.

Charge your EV from your own roof

Charging in the driveway during daylight can draw straight from your own panels. Tell us if an electric car is coming so the system accounts for it.

Pool heating, air conditioning, big daytime loads

Pool pumps, air conditioning and a home office all draw hardest in the middle of the day, which is when the roof is working. Your assessment looks at when yours run.

Current help with the upfront cost

Eligible Victorian households may receive a state rebate, and eligible systems can earn federal certificates that reduce the upfront price. Check the current details below.

Recent solar installations

Recent jobs around Melbourne. The layout changes every time, because the roof does.

Free assessment first. Firm price last. Your call in between.

Nothing is paid until you accept a written price.

  1. A call about your place

Which way the roof faces, what shades it, and what you want solar to do about your bill.

  2. Your proposal, in writing

After the call you receive a proposal for your home. It shows the proposed roof layout, estimated annual production, your bill before and after, and an itemised price.

  3. A site visit, then a firm price

If you want to continue, we visit to check the roof, access, switchboard and meter. Anything the visit changes goes back to you in writing.

What’s in your proposal

Every component is named with its warranty. Installation and any switchboard or meter work are priced separately. The savings estimate uses your bills and shows its assumptions. Eligible rebates and certificates appear as separate reductions.

Current rebates and certificate discounts

Eligibility and the amount depend on your home, system and installation date.

Up to $1,400 from Solar Victoria

Eligible households can receive up to half the solar-panel installation cost, capped at $1,400. An optional interest-free loan can match the rebate amount and is repaid monthly over four years.

The federal certificate discount

Eligible systems earn small-scale technology certificates. SEN assigns those certificates through the approved process and applies their value as an upfront discount. The number available depends on the system, location and installation date, and reduces each year until the scheme ends in 2030.

Would you qualify for the Victorian rebate?

Solar Victoria currently lists these main household conditions:

  • You own the home and live in it, or you’re building one.
  • The combined taxable income of the owners is under $150,000 a year.
  • The property is worth less than $3 million.
  • No solar has been installed at the address in the last 10 years.
  • The address hasn’t already had a Solar Homes panel or battery rebate.

Solar Victoria makes the final eligibility decision and must approve the application before installation. We check what may apply during the assessment and show each amount separately in your proposal.
